EPI INFO
2002
Program je charakteru public domain a je teda voľne šíriteľný. K
dispozícii predkladáme jeho stručnú charakteristiku, hardwarové a softwarové
požiadavky v angličtine:
Epi Info is a public domain software package designed for the global
community of public health practitioners and researchers. It provides for easy
form and database construction, data entry, and analysis with epidemiologic
statistics, maps, and graphs. The primary applications within EpiInfo are:
MakeView - a program for creating forms and questionnaires which automatically
creates a database
Enter - a program for using the forms and questionnaires created in MakeView to
enter data into the database
Analysis - a program for producing statistical analyses of data, report output
and graphs
EpiMap - a program for creating GIS maps and overlaying survey data on to them
Although "Epi Info" is a CDC trademark, the programs, documentation, and
teaching materials are in the public domain and may be freely copied,
distributed, and translated.
Epi Info Around the World
A 2001 analysis documented 280,000 downloads of Epi Info from over 125
countries. The DOS manual and/or programs have been translated from English into
13 additional languages.
With Epi Info 2002 and a personal computer, epidemiologists and other public
health and medical professionals can rapidly develop a questionnaire or form,
customize the data entry process, and enter and analyze data. Epidemiologic
statistics, tables, graphs, and maps are produced with simple commands such as
READ, FREQ, LIST, TABLES, GRAPH, and MAP. Epi Map 2002 displays geographic maps
with data from Epi Info 2002.
A new version, Epi Info 2002 for Windows retains many features of the familiar
Epi Info for DOS, while offering Windows ease of use strengths such as
point-and-click commands, graphics, fonts, and printing.
Key Features of Epi Info 2002
 | Maximum compatibility with industry standards, including:
 | Microsoft Access and other SQL and ODBC databases |
 | Visual Basic, Version 6 |
 | World Wide Web browsers and HTML |
|
 | Extensibility, so that organizations outside CDC can produce additional
modules |
 | Epi Map, an ArcView®-compatible GIS |
 | NutStat, a nutrition anthropometry program that calculates percentiles and
z-scores using either the 2000 CDC or the 1978 CDC/WHO growth reference |
 | Logistic regression and Kaplan-Meier survival analysis |
 | Data Compare does double data entry comparison |
 | Epi Lock password protects, encrypts, and compresses Epi Info 2002 data
|
 | Teaching exercises |
 | Entirely new, not just a "port" of Epi Info for DOS |
 | Allows analysis and import of other file types
|
System Requirements
 | Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, or XP is required |
 | 32 MB of Random Access Memory. More RAM (64 MB minimum) is recommended for
Windows NT 4.0, 2000, or XP. |
 | 200 megahertz processor is recommended |
 | At least 50 megabytes of free hard disk space

6.04d uses 4-digit years for year-2000 compatibility |
 | Conversion programs are provided for moving data (REC) files from DOS
versions of Epi Info to the Windows (MDB) format, or data files may be read
directly (english only) |
 | User modification of program (PGM) and check (CHK) files is necessary
|
What's New in Epi Info 2002

We have attempted to
document all of the major improvements here.
However, there are
many bug fixes and minor improvements which you may notice yet are not

If you feel that
something not documented should be here, please let us know at
